Our history
What started as a small family venture in 1945 has grown into Grimsby's most trusted name in home interiors. GCW was built on clear values: hard work, honesty commitment.
Over the generations, we've adapted and expanded — but our values remain woven into every fibre of us.
From selling small roll-ends and rugs on a modest market store front, to selling thousands of quality flooring and furniture ranges out of a 9,000 square foot showroom, our goals and values stay exactly the same.

Andre
After leaving school in 1998, Andre spent a year at art college before beginning an apprenticeship in carpet fitting. From 1999 to 2002, he honed his skills on the tools, then took the leap to become self-employed — fitting floors across Grimsby for nearly a decade.
In 2011, after years of hands-on work started to take a toll on his back, Andre made a natural move into sales. Drawing on a lifetime of flooring experience, he now helps customers find the right product with honesty, precision, and expert advice.
Today, Andre also serves as one of GCW’s Directors, using his deep knowledge of the trade to guide the business forward. -

Harvey
Harvey’s journey at GCW started early — between 2003 and 2005, he spent Saturdays riding alongside his dad in the estimating van, visiting homes across Lincolnshire and learning the trade from the ground up.
From 2006 to 2008, he worked hands-on in the warehouse, before moving into sales in 2008. His drive and customer-first mindset saw him quickly progress, becoming store manager in 2010 and then Head of Sales by 2016.
Since 2022, Harvey has taken on the role of a Director, overseeing all retail stores, operations and HR — helping shape the future of GCW while staying rooted in the values that built it. -

Sharing the same blood gives us an unbreakable bond. From a young age, we’ve worked side by side — learning the trade, lifting carpets, and watching our family business grow.
