What is the difference between a bed divan and bedstead?

A bed divan is a box base with a solid top on casters/silver gliders which is easier to move for cleaning and can have the added bonus of storage.

A bedstead is a wooden/fabric bed frame which goes around the mattress with a slattered base complete with built in headboard.

People tend to make the choice between divans and bed frames for different reasons. Bed frames tend to be chosen for their design and divans for their small footprint and functionality.
